Why choose brick?
Affordability
No other material provides as much aesthetic, protective, and long-lasting value as genuine clay brick. Whether it is for a starter home or a suburban school, data confirms that brick costs less than one may think. With so much going for it and the significance that cladding has on the entire building project, it makes sense to view brick as an investment rather than a cost.
Brick costs about half as much as manufactured stone and just a third more than fiber cement. Because cladding represents just a small percentage of the total construction of the house, it pays to invest in brick!
Protection and Durability
Brick provides superior shelter in ways other materials can’t match in terms of durability, fire protection, moisture control, insect resistance, protection from wind-borne debris, and more. Other products may talk a big game, but no material delivers like a brick in so many different types of severe weather events.
Sustainability
US Brick manufactures environmentally-friendly brick products that provide exceptional energy efficiency, durability, and recyclability. Unlike fake materials that are engineered and altered to look like something they’re not, brick is made from some of Earth’s most abundant and natural materials. Brick does not emit VOCs and is 100% recyclable as it can be either salvaged, crushed brick for sub-base materials, or chipped brick for permanent landscaping mulch. Our manufacturing facilities meet or exceed state and federal environmental regulations and we are constantly improving our processes to reduce our environmental impact.
US Brick’s earth-friendly practices include:
- Using rainwater, runoff water, and recycled water in brickmaking
- Recycling clay and bricks that don’t meet our quality standards
- Using high-efficiency, state-of-the-art natural gas kilns
- Recycling heat from kiln cooling zone to dry our brick
- Mining from land resources within 13 miles of our brick-making facility to save fuel
- Complete reclamation of clay mining lands

Aesthetics
Many of the most beautiful buildings and streetscapes have been clad with fired clay brick – some of them were created before the United States became an independent nation. Because of brick’s incredible longevity, flexibility, and permanent color, it looks just as great on historic colonial structures as it does on sleek, contemporary office buildings.
Clay pavers are another type of clay brick that has been used in the United States since colonial times.
